"Is an interactive narrative, i.e. its plot is varied by the user�s reactions. Thus the user becomes an active part of the narrative. You as the author define the user�s role within the narrative and her actions� effect on the narrative. A Korsakow-Project consists of several Movies (moving image sequences) and the Database. A Movie can be seen as a chapter of a book ; within a Korsakow- Project it is the smallest narrative unit SMU. The Database contains a set of rules (information on each Movie), which define which Movies the user is going to be offered next � and in what way they are going to be presented.

The Korsakow System consists of two applications: the Korsakow-Tool enables the author to create an interactive narrative ( called Korsakow- Project ); the Korsakow-Engine enables the user to view the Korsakow-Project. There are also workshops, where you can learn about a new way of storytelling using the [korsakow system]. The workshops are organized by the Mediamatic Foundation"
